SPINK COMHALTAS: Spink Comhaltas are delighted to announce that registration for the 2014/15 season will take place on Friday 12th September in Knock hall in Spink between 7 and 8pm. Music classes for junior members will be on Friday’s at 7pm, commencing 19th September. Adult music classes will commence at start of October in Abbeyleix. We have a proud record since 1979 with our members wining county, provincial and All-Ireland titles in Fleadh Cheoil competitions. Spink branch hosted the very successful Laois County Fleadh in 2014 in Abbeyleix. The branch operates a comprehensive instrument bank which allows junior members to get access to high quality traditional Irish musical instruments at a very competitive price. Instruments available include fiddle, flute, concertina, button accordion, banjo, mandolin, bouzouki, harp & uileann pipes. ST TIGHEARNACHS PRIMARY SCHOOL CULLOHILL: An information evening will take place in the school on Monday August 25th. The new extension may be viewed at 8pm with meeting at 8:30pm. This is a wonderful opportunity for the local community to view the building before classes resume. Parents of pupils and members of the public are welcome to attend. (Adults only)
